Purpose
Ensure the efficient manufacturing of quality products that meet or exceed customer expectations.
Responsibilities
- Perform changeovers and complete the changeover setup form.
- Arrange assistance for changeover tasks.
- Clean blenders and other equipment during material changes.
- Pre-blend and oversee the blending or mixing of resins, both online and offline.
- Complete necessary paperwork such as production sheets, labor logs, scrap sheets, and daily functional check sheets.
- Weigh and record scrap on shift paperwork or enter it into the MRP system.
- Set and test secondary equipment (printers, punches, venting, portable winders, etc.) to ensure proper setup and operation.
- Monitor and respond to stack light alerts.
- Support and comply with safety, food safety, and environmental guidelines.
- Make machine adjustments as needed to maintain product quality or as identified by the Packer/Inspector.
- Follow incident protocol for medical assistance and apply first aid if trained.
- Identify equipment issues and complete maintenance request forms.
- Close orders in the system when production is complete.
- Aim to meet expected production rates and record any variance in the system.
- Collect, weigh, and document all scrap; enter it into the system.
- Ensure that reprocessed materials are used in production as predetermined.
- Continuously check run rates.
- Perform quality checks from start to finish (resins, silos, computer info, blender settings, etc.).
- Ensure tools are in their proper locations.
- Ensure auxiliary equipment (press, vents, V-board, etc.) is working correctly.
- Keep the ink room organized.
- Clean around extruders and blenders.
- Document any maintenance and safety concerns.
- Perform all duties of a Utility Worker.
