Production Planner / Scheduler

Overview:
Homestrong Recruitment is seeking a Production Planner on behalf of a reputable power systems company known for its commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction. The role involves scheduling and coordinating work and material flow within the manufacturing environment to ensure optimal productivity and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize lean principles to enhance processes across the value stream, from supplier to customer.
- Lead efforts to streamline information flow between customers, sales, and production plants.
- Use ERP systems to manage inventory control and generate production orders.
- Commit to sales shipping dates and expedite orders as needed.
- Manage customer and supplier data related to material ordering and shipping.
- Analyze and monitor key planning parameters, including order changes and inventory levels.
- Collaborate with various departments to plan work center capacity requirements.
- Support new product introductions and manage engineering changes to meet customer demands while reducing obsolescence risks.
- Work with internal suppliers and purchasing teams to address shortages and lead time requirements.
- Regularly review inventory to identify excess or obsolete items and propose scrapping solutions.
- Monitor production processes for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to standards.
- Review and distribute production schedules and work orders to departments.
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline.
- 2-5 years of experience in logistics management, supply chain management, capacity planning, or production planning.
- APICS – CPIM certification is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, particularly in inventory control methods like MRP.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
